Like free stuff? Need more Insiider Points? This
is the place to get them.
Each week we will debut some sort of contest that
all registered members can enter. We will then choose
a winner, or winners, dependign on the contest.
That lucky person will then get the stated prize
for the contest.
The easier the contest, the smaller the prize. The
harder contest the larger the prize.

PREVIOUS CONTESTS:
5th Sub-Contest, 10/07/02 - ENDED
The guesses have been made, and you know, card throwing
from ten feet away into a horribly small little
baseball cap has to be on the hardest things I have
ever done.
I got TWENTY (20) cards in!
Hey, it's really not that bad, I'm sure proud with
myself. So the winners are.....wait a sec, FOUR
people? Darnit, looks like we got some tiebrakers
to settle. The people that tied are:
ErnieIII - 22
Raywind - 22
chitballer@hotmail.com - 18
yinyang32@hotmail.com - 18
So all of you contestees that tied, it's time
to e-mail me once again, except every single one
of you have a special question to answer for yourself,
and the two closest to their question's answer win!
ErnieIII
- After throwing all the cards, how many landed
upside down on the floor?
Raywind
- After throwing all the cards, how many were NOT
found?
chitballer
- In the hat, how many of the 20 cards were UNCOMMON?
yingyang32
- In the hat, how many of the 20 cards were COMMON?
Get me your answers by next Monday and we'll announce
the winners then!

5th Contest, 9/30/02
Alright so the contests entrees have been taken,
but YOU MAY STILL SEND THEM IN! I may as well be
choosing more and more as we go on....but onto the
first submission I took in:
Magi-Nation Card Throwing!
Nipsatheel:
Out of one hundred cards how many can Jim wong get
into a hat from five feet away?
Alrighty! But since I love card throwing that much
(it's fun, you can hit people from far away, and
it looks cool), it won't just be FIVE feet..nono,
it's going to be ten feet away from a small baseball
cap!
It's simple for me, set it up, take a couple of
pictures, and start chucking away. What YOU have
to do, is e-mail
me and give me a number between 1-100
(any e-mailers that give me a number outside of
200 will get a nasty virus sent to em ;). Closest
to the number that I manage to get in recieve....
:
1st place:
100 Insiider Points
1x Tony at a Con
1x Monma Dan (smiling version)
1x Promo Rayje's Belt
1x Foil Warrior's Boots OR 1x Foil Thunderquake
2nd place:
50 Insiider points
1x Tony at a Con
1x Monma Dan
1x Foil Warrior's BOots OR 1x Foil Thunderquake
No third place since the guessing range will be
so small, and there will most likely be a lot of
tiebrakers.
Guess
away and good luck!
4th Contest, 9/22/02: CONTEST FINISHED
For this week, I have an interesting proposition
to you all. I've got a LOT of stuff to give away,
and that includes really nifty stuff like:
Japanese Magi-Nation Boosters!
Japanese Promos!
Tony at a Con, Furlosk, Warrior's Boots, Rayje's
Belts
and MORE!
So what I need are contest ideas! The premise of
the contest is pretty simple, just e-mail
me and tell me your great contest ideas.
Of course you can't submit a contest where you know
the answer, so it has to be something original,
inventive - and something you can't cheat to win.
The top FIVE contest ideas entrees will be awarded
with 50 IP a piece, and a random promo to each!
Afterwards, I'll immediately start the competitions
- and remember, nothing too complicated!
The contest for contests starts now! Enter as many
ideas as you want! And as always, don't forget to
e-mail me with them!
3rd Contest, 8/20/02 - CONTEST FINISHED
Well Jim Wong is now back from China, and there's
one special thing he couldn't do while he was in
China - check Insiider e-mail.
So little Jimmy comes back afer 2 months, and pops
open Outlook Express....the e-mail fetching begins.
So the question is - how many e-mails did Jim Wong
recieve in his absence from America?
Did people heed the "Do Not E-mail Me"
Warning? Or did they forget and went ahead instead?
I want two numbers as answers. The first number
will be the total amount of e-mails I recieved (in
both sniiper@insiider.com and spii@insiider.com),
and I ALSO want the number of e-mails that contained
VIRUSES out of all of the e-mails I got (in both
accounts).
Closest person to the total of e-mails will recieve:
50 IP
2x random foils
Closest person to the total of e-mails with viruses
will recieve:
50 IP
2x random foils
There are TWO winners to this competition! But first,
how many e-mails DID I get with viruses and non-virus?
Well....I'd be happy to have it be more, but I had
86 e-mails, and a whopping 67 of them were viruses!
Goes to show how much the internet loves me. The
winners are:
|
Closest
to amount of total e-mails:
Ardo! (mikecarl@interlinklc.net - 3 off!)
|
|
Closest
to amount of total viruses:
TrynFlame-Saver! (JasR500@aol.com - 6 off!)
|
So all the winners please contact me again with
your addresses and I'll ship out your stuff asap.
E-mail snIIper@insiider.com
with your contact info!!
2nd Contest Sub-Contest, 6/15/02 - CONTEST FINISHED
The winners have been figured out (it was incredibly
close) and to answer your questions, the total amount
of the counters was exactly 2189! So the
winners are....*drumroll*
1st place - Mikey18USC@yahoo.com (MIKEY) - guessed
2219 being 30 away
2nd place- Toran13@hotmail.com (TORAN DAVALON) -
guessed 2381 being 192 away
3rd place - OmegaWolfg@yahoo.com (SILVERWOLF) -
guessed 1684 being 505 away
And amazingly enough, the spectator guess was even
more close then the rest of them!:
Spectator Prize - Raichi232@yahoo.com (RogueHyren)
- 2173 being 16 away!!
And in close close second was Raspbeary_21@yahoo.com
- 2208 only being 19 away!
Great job everyone, all the winners please contact
me with shipping info and I'll get your prizes out
as soon as possible!
PRIZES:
1st prize: UNCUT SHEET OF MAGI-NATION, 500 IP, 3x
Foil Warrior's Boots, 3x Foil Thunderquake + 3 random
foils
2nd prize: 250 IP, 2x Foil Warrior's Boots, 2x Foil
Thunderquake + 2 random foils
3rd prize: 100 IP, 1x Foil Warrior's Boots, 1x Foil
Thunderquake + 1 random foil
Spectator Prize: 100 IP, 4 random foils
2nd Contest Sub-Contest, 6/08/02: CONTEST FINISHED
The contest has had an absolutely amazing amount
of entries, and surprisingly enough, the top 3 people
have all guessed within the same amount of the answer.
That means they've ALL tied for 1st place! So what
was the answer? 942 counters were hidden
inside that magical Ultra Pro box....
The current standings are as follows:
1st place with 950 guessed - Toran13@hotmail.com
(TORAN DAVALON)
1st place with 950 guessed - omegawolfg@yahoo.com
(SILVERWOLF)
1st place with 934 guessed - Mikey18USC@aol.com
(MIKEY)
All of them are 8 away from the correct answer!
Now I unfortunately can't reward every single one
of them the first place prize, so the subcontest
must begin!
Fairly simple in idea, the 3 winners must submit
to me their guess of what the total amount
of the counters in the box is. The answer is ranged
from 1500 - 2500, so start guessing you three!
Everyone else who's spectating can take a guess
at the answer as well if they wish, and the top
winner out of the non-top 3 placers will recieve
a special prize as well!
So start guessing and finalists
submit your answers to me! Non-finalists
submit
your answer to me here!
PRIZES:
1st prize: UNCUT SHEET OF MAGI-NATION, 500 IP, 3x
Foil Warrior's Boots, 3x Foil Thunderquake + 3 random
foils
2nd prize: 250 IP, 2x Foil Warrior's Boots, 2x Foil
Thunderquake + 2 random foils
3rd prize: 100 IP, 1x Foil Warrior's Boots, 1x Foil
Thunderquake + 1 random foil
Spectator Prize: 100 IP, 4 random foils
2nd Contest, 5/18/02 - CONTEST ENDED, SUB CONTEST
NOW TO BEGIN
Count the counters! Pictured below are all 6 sides
of an Ultra-Pro 100 card plastic box. Inside are
the MND counters that come with every starter deck
in 1, 2, and 5 denominations. Your job is to guess
how many there are and e-mail
me with the answer! (Note: You don't
guess the total "counter points" there
are).
If there were 3 counters in there, two of them are
5s, and one is a 1. If this were the contest, the
answer would be 3 counters, and not 11. Get the
point?
I'll let the contest run for a few weeks at most,
and once I recieve enough entries, I'll announce
any tiebreakers necessary and then winners!

1st Contest, 4/21/02: CONTEST FINISHED
I, snIIper, am thinking of a card. Not just any
normal card however, I'm thinking of a card with
a certain typo on it. For 150 IP, the first
person to tell me the exact card I'm thinking of
wins! However, you must include in the message what
the error on the card actually is...otherwise you
don't win at all!
Here's an example, the 1st ed. Vortex of Knowledge
is actually spelled Vortex of Knowedge....but that's
not the answer. All you have to do is e-mail
sniiper@insiider.com with the subject topic
as: The Card is ____!
Don't forget to tell me what the typo is!
Who would've guessed that someone who didn't know
about the contest won! Whyrl submitted the correct
answer of the mispelling of Holmberg's name on the
card Crushing
Winds. Check it out!
Some other nifty cards with typos - Woot (Illus.
by listed twice), Yog's Maul (Illus. by the mysterious
Name), and of course, we can't forget the card that
doesn't have a typo but was guessed the most - Moob!
